Digitus Dei Est Hic

In the 2020 presidential election, there was evidence of voter fraud in many battleground states, including Georgia, which ultimately went to Joe Biden by 0.3%. In response, Georgia passed a new law to protect itself from voter fraud in future elections. You'd think that nobody would oppose such a law, right? States can and should pass laws that encourage fair elections - after all, this is supposed to be a republic. Well, in retaliation, MLB moved the all-star game from Atlanta to Colorado. Atlanta's team, the Braves, was under .500 at the all-star break, but went 44-28 in the second half and surprised everyone by winning the World Series against the Houston Astros.
This year, 29 out of 30 MLB teams had a pride night in June to celebrate those who are living in manifest sin. The only team that didn't was the Texas Rangers, who faced much criticism for it. Not considered a favorite to win it all in 2023 (they had lost 102 games in 2021 and 94 in 2022), they shocked the world and won the World Series.
Do you see a connection here? Both the state of Georgia and the Texas Rangers did things that seemed common sensical - why shouldn't we protect our elections? Why should we promote immorality? They were both punished for such actions, and went on to become surprise World Champions that very same year.
I personally believe digitus Dei est hic - The Finger of God is here. I honestly think that God is trying to tell us that these organizations stood up for what is right despite massive backlash. "Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:10

  1. Whether God performed special interventions for the Braves and Rangers or not, what happened was certainly fitting.
